Regular visa application for foreign citizens

Ordinary entry visas are issued for tourist, pilgrimage, study, employment, journalism, diplomatic and other kinds of trips, mostly for a period not exceeding a year and in certain cases for a period of up to 3 years.

The following table outlines all types of Uzbekistan visas available to foreign citizens:

D-1 Diplomatic entry visa (for accredited persons), provided to the foreign personnel of diplomatic missions for the period of accreditation
D-2 Diplomatic entry visa (temporary), provided to the foreign personnel of diplomatic missions for the period of up to 3 months
DT Diplomatic entry visa (tourism), provided to the diplomatic staff of foreign states and organizations for the period of up to a month
S-1 On-duty entry visa (for accredited persons), provided to the foreign personnel of diplomatic missions as well as representative offices and branches of international non-profit organizations for the period of accreditation
S-2 On-duty entry visa (temporary), provided to the foreign personnel of diplomatic missions as well as representative offices and branches of international non-profit organizations for the period of up to 3 months
S-3 On-duty entry visa (by invitation of Uzbek state authorities), provided to foreign citizens visiting Uzbekistan at the invitation of Uzbek state authorities and non-profit organizations in Uzbekistan for the period of up to a year
O Official entry visa (for official and state visits), provided to the members of official delegations visiting Uzbekistan at the invitation of the Parliament, the President and the Government of Uzbekistan
B-1 Business entry visa (for accredited persons), provided to the foreign employees of representative offices of foreign companies and financial institutions for the period of accreditation in Uzbekistan
B-2 Business entry visa (for business), provided to business people temporarily visiting Uzbekistan for the period of up to a year
T Tourist entry visa, provided to foreign tourists visiting Uzbekistan for the period of up to a month
TG Group tourist entry visa, provided to a group of at least 5 tourists visiting Uzbekistan for the period of up to a month
PLG Pilgrimage entry visa, provided to foreign citizens at the request of local tourism companies and the Uzbek Committee on Religious Affairs for studying the cultural, historical, religious and spiritual heritage of Uzbekistan, for the period of up to 2 months
E Employment entry visa, provided to foreign citizens having an Uzbekistan work permit for the period of effectiveness of the work permit
J-1 Journalist entry visa (for accredited persons), provided to the representatives of foreign mass media for the period of accreditation in Uzbekistan
J-2 Journalist entry visa (temporary), provided to the representatives of foreign mass media for the period of temporary accreditation in Uzbekistan
PV-1 Guest entry visa (by invitation of local citizens), provided to foreign citizens visiting Uzbekistan at the invitation of local citizens for the period of up to a year
PV-2 Guest entry visa (by invitation of foreign citizens), provided to foreign citizens visiting Uzbekistan at the invitation of foreign citizens residing in Uzbekistan for the period of up to a year
VTD Compatriot entry visa (by invitation of local citizens), provided to natives of Uzbekistan and their family members visiting Uzbekistan at the invitation of relatives - local citizens for the period of up to 2 years
STD Student entry visa (temporary study exchange), provided at the request of local higher education institutions and authorities to foreign students visiting Uzbekistan for short-term study for the period of up to a year
A-1 Study entry visa, provided at the request of local education institutions and authorities to foreign citizens engaged in full-time study at local education institutions for the period of up to a year
A-2 Teaching entry visa (employment), provided at the request of local education institutions and authorities to the teacher and professor staff employed in local education institutions for the period of up to a year
A-3 Academic entry visa (temporary), provided at the request of local education and research institutions and authorities to foreign citizens planning to conduct short-term research and lecturing activities for the period of up to 2 years
MED Medical entry visa, provided at the request of local healthcare institutions to foreign citizens visiting Uzbekistan for healthcare purposes for the period of up to 3 months
C-1 Crew entry visa, provided to foreign members of aircraft and train crews for the period of up to a year
C-2 Truck driver entry visa, provided to foreign truck drivers for the period of up to a year
EXIT Exit visa, provided to foreign citizens residing in Uzbekistan with expired entry visas for the purpose of leaving Uzbekistan within a month
TRAN Transit visa, provided to foreign citizens traveling in transit through Uzbekistan for the period of up to 3 days
INV Multiple entry investment visa, provided at the request of local companies to foreign citizens who invested in Uzbekistan for at least 3.187.500.000 Uzbek soums

Entry visas are issued by Uzbek consular offices abroad, certain consular offices of foreign states entitled to perform consular functions on behalf of Uzbekistan and bureaus of foreign affairs at local airports of international status.

Local companies intending to invite foreign citizens to Uzbekistan shall need to send an invitation through the Uzbek Ministry of Foreign Affairs (mfa.uz).

Entry visas approximately cost (depending on the length of stay):

  • one-time entry visa between USD 50-150
  • multiple entry visa between USD 150-350
