Visa for foreign citizens
Foreign citizens can visit Uzbekistan for personal, official, tourist, vacation, study, work and medical treatment purposes. When entering Uzbekistan, a foreign citizen must have a valid national passport. Foreign citizens may be denied entry into Uzbekistan in the interests of national security, if during a previous stay the person violated the entry-exit procedures or rules of stay in Uzbekistan, and for other reasons.
Entry into Uzbekistan is allowed with a corresponding visa, unless a foreign citizen is entitled to visa free regime. Visa free regime applies irrespective of the purpose of visit of the foreign person. To enter Uzbekistan under the visa-free regime, individuals must have a valid passport with a validity extending for at least 6 months from the date of entry.
The duration of visa free regime starts from the moment of crossing the state border of Uzbekistan. A foreign citizen must leave the country until the visa free period expires. In order to stay in Uzbekistan for a longer period, the foreign citizen must obtain a visa.
